Secular Franciscans are typically lay men and women who have been inspired by Saint Francis and Saint Clare and made lifetime promises to their ideals and values. They gather frequently in a local "fraternity" for regular support and Franciscan formation. They continue to live and work in the world, bringing the Franciscan Gospel values into their unique sphere of influence.
These inspiring souls follow Francis' Rule of the "Third Order Secular" to live a life of holy penance and conversion in the world, without changing their vocational state in life. Singles, Married Couples, and even Diocesan Priests and Deacons have joined the Third Order Secular.
"Mary Queen of Peace Fraternity" is joined to the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in a spiritual covenant. Their primary gathering is every First Friday of the month at our public Franciscan Holy Hour (7pm, usually at St Columba Church).
