Mission
We are Rebuilders.
While St. Francis was praying before the painted Crucifix of San Damiano, he heard the verbal voice of Jesus speaking to him:
"Francis, Go and Rebuild My Church, which as you see is falling into Ruin!"
We hear Jesus saying to us today,
Go and Rebuild your own selves daily, broken and wounded by sin and concupiscence.
Go and Rebuild each other, for you are all Brothers and children of the same Father in Heaven.
Go and Rebuild My Temples of the Holy Spirit, my children who are suffering from the womb to the tomb.
"Go and Rebuild My Church!"
The following excerpts are directly from The Statutes of the Franciscan Brothers of Peace, revised 1994:

The “Franciscan Brothers of Peace” is a community of celibate men following the ideals of St Francis of Assisi.
+++
We call ourselves “Franciscan Brothers of Peace.” Saint Francis of Assisi is our model and ideal. We have been inspired and challenged by his gospel witness….We want to be missionaries of Christ’s peace in the Church and in the world. “Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.” This is also our prayer and primary mission.
+++
The purpose of the Institute is as follows: The Franciscan Brothers of Peace are to live and foster a life of radical love and zeal for Jesus Christ through prayer and penance. We strive for personal and communal conversion to Jesus Christ. By following a life of prayer and penance, we hope to experience Christ’s peace in our hearts and to become channels of His peace for those around us.
+++
As missionaries of Christ’s peace, we seek to live in the peace of Jesus especially for those in need of this witness. We shall give free, wholehearted service to all, especially to the poor and the needy, without salary or monetary gain.
+++
The spirit and the charism of the Franciscan Brothers of Peace are based on the Scriptures: “It pleased God to make absolute fullness reside in [Jesus], and by means of Him, to reconcile everything in His person, both on earth and in the heavens, making peace through the blood of His cross.” (Col 1:19-20)
